Vermont’s goal is to provide affordable broadband coverage to the entire state by 2010. To help achieve this goal, the Vermont Telecommunications Authority was created by the Vermont legislature. The Vermont Telecommunication Authority is tasked with identifying areas in need of broadband and cellular service and to work with state, local, and private entities to bring these services to these areas through formation of partnerships, contracts, and financial assistance.
